So You Want To Guest GM

THIS PAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION(ish)

SO! Let's say you are an avid player of Far Recon, a part of the backbone and pillar of this fair community. And let's say that you, having been on a few runs, would like to do one of your own. Many of you may be thinking "how am I to do this?" "It's probably really hard" "I'm hungry."

BUT WORRY NOT DEAR READER

Making a guest GM run is not as hard as you might believe. Basically, we just ask that you write up a bit about the plot, the stats, estimated time, and any other hazards players will face! If you need a format…

[PLAYERNAMEHERE]'s GUEST RUN PROPOSAL: [THENAMEOFTHERUN]

PLOT: [THIS IS WHAT THE RUN IS ABOUT AND POSSIBLY EXPLORING ANY MAJOR THEMES OR ASPECTS OF THE RUN]

ENEMY STATS:

GIANT ENEMY CRAB1

STR: 5

PDEF: 7

HP: 27

TIME: [THIS SHIT WILL TAKE THIS LONG]

Description of the world: [GO OVER THE IMAGERY AND LANDSCAPE AND BEINGS THE POOLBOYS ARE LIKELY TO HAVE SHENNANIGANS WITH, AND GIVE A HISTORY OF THE WORLD AND WHY THINGS ARE THE WAY THEY ARE. THE MORE DETAIL THE BETTER]

Further Details: [TIME AND ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO MENTION]

(to get the raw code, just go to the page source using the options at the bottom of the page)

"Neat" you might say "but how do submit". Well, I'm glad you asked! It's as simple as going to a GM, and showing them a Pastebin or even a SCP Sandbox page with your proposal. If you have a proposal, please list your name below with the name of the run. Don't list the whole proposal unless you don't mind spoilers.

[YOURNAMEHERE] proposes the run "[THENAMEOFTHERUNAGAIN]"

So, I did my run! Now what happens!

Well, there are a few things that can happen. Assuming the run went off without too many hitches, a member of the GM team will sit you down and tell you what you did well and what you didn't do well. Assuming you make another guest run, and we see you took our feedback and improved yourself, you will be given one XP for the run, and for subsequent runs you do in the future(this assumes you keep up the quality). Eventually, if you get a solid set of runs under yer belt, we might consider letting you do more ambitious runs. If you don't build on our feedback, don't worry! You will not be barred from trying again unless your runs are severely not good.

Members of the GM team are not eligible for getting xp from doing runs.

I'd like to do a run, but I don't know how!

If you'd like to try and get a handle on handling people, we do have the lovely #poolparty room which is open for anyone to use for any non-canon related Far Recon RP! If you want to try and do a practice run there, you are more than welcome to!

If you have further questions or suggestions, please add them to this page's discussion page or in the chat.
